Our new Accelerated reader library is now up and running and pupils are enjoying selecting the relevant books from their AR Colour.  We quickly realised we were short of particular bands however we have been fortunate enough to have ordered 300 brand new books for our Accelerated Reader courtesy of the HSA.  A huge thank you to the HSA for this purchase which will ensure all pupils have exciting books to read which are at the appropriate level.

Today was Science Day as we celebrate National Science and Engineering Week. Every class from Nursery to Primary 7 had an experiment to do with a common theme of senses and communication.  Pupils took sight, scent, taste and touch tests, reaction time experiments, sound measuring investigations, musical instrument creation sessions, vibration / sound workshops and much much more.  All pupils in the school joined together for an assembly in the afternoon and 2 ambassadors from each class shared what they had been learning about in their experiment.

A fantastic and fun packed day for everyone today and a special thanks to Mrs Finlayson, one of our parents, who put in a huge amount of effort to make today happen by organising the experiments and resources for each class.

A huge thank you to all parents who have helped with the P4-P7 Library.  The library is now open and pupils are scanning in and out books with our new junior librarian scanning system.  Furthermore, pupils are also enjoying making a start on Accelerated Reader, which allows pupils to access books pitched at the appropriate level.

We will be giving you more information on Accelerated Reader at our open afternoons later this term.
